When to Book
For the high and ultra-seasons, it is a good idea to book your stay about six months in advance. It is recommended not to book less than a month in advance to the Ultra season as there becomes limited availability on accommodations, rentals and offerings.
Payments
The local currency in Costa Rica is Colones, however nearly all locales accept USD as payment. Cash is the easiest (and at times required) form of payment for activities and outings during your stay. Only a limited number of restaurants, shops and services accept American Express and nearly all activities prefer or require a cash payment.
We recommend bringing sufficient cash with you to avoid unnecessary trips to the ATM. We have safes in the villa where you can lock your cash and valuables. Please ensure that your bills are crisp & clean, as most stores will not accept stained or torn bills.
What to Bring
We don’t call it a barefoot beach town for nothing! You will find many locals without shoes at all times. It is a laid back culture in Santa Teresa, with people bopping around town on the dirt roads during the day in their bathing suits and a sarong or t-shirt. At night, it can be fun to dress up in your favorite resort wear. Light linen clothing is encouraged due to the heat in the peak seasons. Sunscreen and hat to protect your skin during the day. A rain jacket is encouraged in the green season.

Make sure you bring a water bottle and stay hydrated! We like to use Liquid IV electrolyte packets to maximise hydration in the humidity.
WiFi
Most villas are equipped with high speed WiFi, enabling you to work remotely as needed. Outages do occur at times and are more likely during the rainy season or in more remote areas of the jungle.
Housekeeping and Laundry Service
Housekeeping is included in the price of the villa and laundry service is available for an additional fee. Beachfront villas are also equipped with a night guard for extra security.
