How do we Exercise in Costa Rica?

Exercise in any form is vital to our health as humans. Regular exercise helps improve brain health, manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, improve longevity and the ability to perform daily functions.


Sometimes it can be hard to find the time to exercise in our daily lives with our never-ending task lists and priorities. Whether you prefer gentle movement or intense activity, we have a wide variety of activities to suit your preferences in Costa Rica.

One of my favorite parts of living in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica is that working out doesn’t feel like a “to do.” Instead, it is built into daily life (see my blog post about Blue Zones).


Engage in gentle exercise with sunrise or sunset walks on the beach with sorbet colored skies. Get pushed into some baby waves on a fool-proof surfboard. Take a walk through nature. Go horseback riding. Go for a swim. Practice yoga. Get a massage. Do a sound bath. Pause. Relax.





Adventure seekers, we also have heavier waves for advanced surfers to find their thrill! Cruise through the jungle on a zip-line. Go rock-climbing on natural rock formations by the ocean’s shore. Catch your dinner on a fishing tour. Go boating to a secret wave and white sand island.
